HOw can I prepare for my first session?
Bring an open mind and a water bottle.
For your first workout, we ask that you fill out our Health & Activity Survey.
You’ll also need to sign a liability waiver prior to your movement screen.
We do have a changing facility. There is not a shower on site. Please plan accordingly.
How Soon Until I get Six-Pack Abs?
Stop. Muscular definition comes with change in lifestyle. There’s no lifting your way to a six-pack, without compromising your system. Constant flexion of the spine, to crunch your way to wellness, isn’t the best approach. This will lead to further injury and dysfunction.
Our programming is about lifestyle ~ not quick fixes and outward appearance of strength. Your physical goals will come with dedication and developing a true, well rounded, understanding of your overall health.
What Does a typical program look like?
Every workout is customized based on the client or group.
You can plan that each workout will include dynamic movement and varied soft tissue work.
Strength training may include body weight, bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, heavy lifts, and more. Selection of modalities will all be based around individual client.
What Do I Do In Between Sessions?
Our philosophy supports the body’s ability to recover between sessions and adapting a training program that varies resistance training, aerobic activity, and an active lifestyle. We don’t believe that it’s necessary to train or go hard every day.
Between sessions, we encourage clients to focus on nourishing their bodies by eating healthy, hydrating, continuing a self-myofasical release protocol, adopting a yoga or mindfulness program, and supporting functional movement patterns daily.
We believe that training sessions are a part of the whole and encourage clients to put emphasis in developing a lifestyle that supports overall health and longevity.
Do I have to have a certain baseline before beginning a program?
We start programming at all levels. We start with a movement screen and a consult to understand your current lifestyle and physical ailments.
The more deconditioned you are, the easier it is to start up. You’ll experience your workouts with a fresh perspective and instantly find deeper connections with your body and physical abilities.
If you are more advanced, or looking to uplevel, be prepared to let go of a lot of current habits and ideas of what strength training should look like and to begin a training style that is out of the box, focused on increasing pliability to allow enhance muscular efficiency.
